Welcome
Ang Kuah Trading Company was established locally in 1975, with our business revolving primarily in the manufacture and trading of garments, accoutrements, textiles and other derived products.
Over the decades, we have grown both in scale and capability, extending our reach into the provision of customization services such as embroidery, silkscreen printing, customized apparels and premiums manufacture, securing a strong foothold in the local industries.
Through servicing large portfolio clients such as the Armed Forces, major corporations and local institutions, we have acquired, through the constant demands of quality and quantity, a strong foundation, allowing us to fully support and deliver various large scale requirements for both domestic and export purposes.
Amidst all the hype, we do not forget the need for top notch customer service, and our staff is always just a ring away. You may find more information of our products and services here, or contact us directly to discuss your requirement.
History
1975 – Founding of the Company
The company was founded by Mr Ang Keok Lee in 1975, in a small shop in Toa Payoh area. The main business then revolved around the import and export of, as well as manual manufacture of kimonos and happy coats, which were highly sought after by foreign armed forces based here.
The business grew with the popular demand, and at one time, there were almost 50 employees gathered to manually produce the kimonos and embroidery work.
1981 – Automating the Business
In this year, the first 12-Head embroidery machine arrived from Japan, and our company was the first in the local scene to procure these. The automated production line allowed higher volume of produce, and in the following years, more machinery was used to support the production line.
1983 – Moving Premises
With the government assisting in the industrialization process, we moved our base of operations to our current base (Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2). It is during this expansion phase, along with the introduction of new ranks and insignia within the various armed forces that took our business to new heights.
1988 – Expand and Corporatise
With accumulated experience and increased volumes, we expanded the factory into double the original size, imported new machines and reached out to major corporations such as SIA and DBS.
2000 – Increase in Capability
During this year, the largest embroidery machine (The 30-Head Machine), arrived, and we are proud to be one of the only 2 companies locally to have in possession this high-capability tool.
2008 – Joining the Internet
To answer to increasingly competitive environments and the need to integrate our business with the information age, we have launched, in January 2008, our corporate website, featuring the various facets of our business.
